Mark: And up next, well, is something that is very rare for this sport. Father versus son. Brad Kane against Christopher Kane. These two have been at each other’s throats for months as seen on social media and then they imploded at When Worlds Collide 2.
Freya: This is tough, it really is. You hate seeing a father/son relationship come to this point and seeing how this is my family, it breaks my heart.
The lights in the arena begin to dim down as the crowd rises to their feet as the opening guitar is heard echoing through the arena. Fans cheer loudly as "Under and Over It” by Five Finger Death Punch is blaring through the sound system. The introduction for the song keeps building until that magical moment when the song breaks through. Pyro explodes as the lights come back on in the arena. Standing before them is that old familiar face with a slight smirk. Brad Kane stands on the stage telling people to get up to their feet if they aren't already. Feeling the pounding music he begins to walk to the ring slapping the hands of all the fans who have their hands over the barricade.
John: Introducing from Belfast, Northern Ireland weighing in tonight at 223 lbs, Brad Kane!!!!
Brad continues to walk around ringside showing more love for the fans who made him into a world traveled wrestler before hopping up to the ring apron. He jumps up over the top rope and leaps up to the second turnbuckle closest to him. Brad throws his arms into the air before jumping off and backing into said corner as he waits for his match to begin as more cheers and camera flashes go off.
Freya: The father. Nine years of experience. Brad has seen about anything and everything a person can see in professional wrestling. He trained me as he did his opponent tonight.
Mark: Brad Kane looks focused tonight on proving his own point onto his son tonight. Having trained Christopher, Brad should know every move his son is going to make.
The beginning of "Hypernova” by The Browning begins to play as people rise to their feet.
“No more silence from me
No more holding back
I am no longer afraid”
The beat of the song drops as the music becomes house music. The lights go in as strobe lights begin to go berserk like a club. All of the teenagers in the crowd are waving glow sticks around like crazy. And then the song begins to slow down again but this time re-explodes into a cacophony that culminates with an explosion of pyro on the stage.
“Silence will not protect you from judgment
So let your voice be heard (be heard) by the world”
Christopher Kane appears in front of sold out crowd now with a towel around his neck. He lets out a violent war cry before grabbing his towel and swinging his arm forward.
John: Introducing from New York, New York, weighing in tonight at 184 lbs, he is “Young K” Christopher Kane!!!
Christopher sprints to the ring and gets up to his feet, forgoing the rest of his usual motions before glaring at his father. The opening bell is heard through the arena.
Mark: And there’s the bell. Time for this to begin.
Freya: And neither of them are wasting a single moment!
The father and son meet in the middle of the ring already exchanging hard, stiff elbow shots to the face. Each strike is met with their head snapping back before firing one back at the other. Having the strength advantage, Brad keeps on his opening attack, plastering his son with elbows until Christopher is backed into the ropes. The elder Kane whips his son across the ring and lowers his shoulder. Chris is able to leap into the air on the rebound and jumps over his father, landing on his feet before dropkicking Brad in the back. Brad stumbles forward into a corner before regaining his bearings. Christopher stands in the middle of the motioning for his old man to bring it on.
Mark: Chris certainly seems fired up right now. Maybe those elbows woke up an already sleeping giant in the teenager.
Freya: I’ve been smacked in the face by Brad’s elbows and they hurt quite a bit. Left a good bruise on my jaw once because of it.
Brad is more than happy to oblige as he comes out in full force, throwing more elbows at his son. Chris is more than happy to fire back with his own elbow again as the crowd grimaces at how hard the two are hitting one another in the middle of the ring. Brad fakes out Christopher with an elbow before going with a hard shoot kick to the ribs. A second one follows with just as much impact, the echo being heard through the arena. The teenager staggers back before trying to kick his father back. Brad jumps back, dodging the strike before throwing a third kick to the ribs at his son which drops Chris to a knee. Brad gains a full head of steam before sliding, looking for the Dead to Rights but Christopher is able to narrowly roll out of the way before popping up to his feet. The elder Kane has a smug look on his face before inviting the boy back to the middle of the ring.
Freya: I don’t think I’ve ever been this uncomfortable during a match in my life. Seeing this right now, how hard they’re hitting one another, how neither of them care about how much they’re hurting the other…
Mark: But in their minds this is the only way that this could be solved. Getting all that aggression, the pain, the lies, all of it getting left in what they do.
Christopher runs a hand through his hair, thinking it over before Brad makes the decision for him by rushing at his son again. Chris tries to cover up from the kicks but Brad begins to pepper him all over his body with the strikes. The younger Kane tries to back himself into the corner as referee Phillip Rivers begins his five count. At the count of four, Brad backs away to not get disqualified before looking smug with himself again. He proclaims for the entire world to hear how “my pussy son has to use the corner to make me stop kicking him.” The crowd jeers the elder Kane who shakes his head before getting a huge kick to the stomach by Christopher. Brad eats another one as Chris bounces himself off of the ropes and dropkicks his dad in the head.
Mark: Papa Kane certainly isn’t getting too much love tonight with words like that. I question why he’s been calling his own son such names but I suppose that’s why they are fighting.
Freya: I hate hearing it. These two when they’re happy, it’s a wonderful sight to behold. To see them now is just killing me.
The elder Kane goes out of the ring to clear his head, walking around ringside as Phillip Rivers tries to keep Chris from staying on the attack. Brad smirks, taking his time but Christopher has had enough. The teenager spies his father standing at ringside near one of the corners and runs before flying out of the ring jumping over the entire corner with a somersault plancha! The crowd gets onto their feet, cheering the young man who pops back up to his feet, fired up. Christopher grabs his father dragging him up before rolling him back into the ring. Christopher gets up onto the apron waiting for Brad to stand back up.
Mark: The high flying ability of Christopher Kane was on full display but I wonder why would he put his body on the line like that in this match? He knows what his father is capable of.
Freya: But you go with what you know. Christopher knows he cannot play the strike game with his dad. It’s a quick way to end his night and his chance at putting himself at peace.
Brad makes his way up to his feet as Christopher springboards back into the ring, taking his father down with a big time dropkick. Knowing that’s not enough to put his father down, Chris drags him back up before whipping him into the ropes. Brad bounces back into leaping heel kick that crumbles him down to the mat. Christopher runs off of the ropes now, leaping into the air with a standing flip leg drop across his dad’s throat. A cover with a leg becoming hooked follows.
One…
Two…
Brad is able to get his left shoulder off of the canvas. Christopher doesn’t show any disgust for the count before pulling his father back up. He puts his dad into a cravate before lifting his right leg, trying to knee his father into next week. Brad has enough wits about him to get a hand up to help lessen the blows before using his strength to grab Christopher by the waist and lifts him into the air. Christopher drops down, landing on his feet, but Brad leaps backwards with an impressive enziguri that knocks the teenager flat on his ass!
Freya: Christopher certainly has developed into a class high flyer and I’m happy to say I helped a bit with that.
Mark: And Brad knew those knees were coming and that backflip was impressive.
The elder Kane slumps against the ropes to catch his breath after that onslaught from his son. Christopher is beginning to stir as Brad turns around and begins to stomp away on his son with hate in his eyes. Rivers gets pulls Brad off of the kid, giving him a warning. Brad puts his hands into the air before dragging his son up to his feet. Another hard kick to the ribs before Brad just pastes his son with a chop to the chest. Chris falls back into a corner with Brad giving out a sadistic smile. He places himself in front of Christopher and begins to unload with rapid chops to the chest, each hitting the boy with so much force that his chest starts to bleed.
Freya: Oh come on…
Mark: The echo of the chops have made this crowd completely silent. I think they’re in awe of the violence this man is showing onto his own son.
Brad stops for a moment before giving out another evil look. Now he fires off with rapid kicks to the chest! Christopher is howling in pain from the strikes before Brad suddenly stops, grabs his son, and throws him halfway across with ring with an exploder suplex. Brad casually walks over to Chris before dragging him up to his feet and does it again! The crowd has turned on the elder Kane now, booing from the rafters as Brad pulls up Christopher one more time and this time throws him with the exploder into the corner! The elder Kane looks happy with himself, kneeling down, mocking slap his own son in the face repeatedly, telling him to come on.
Mark: This is just insulting to see. I can only imagine how hard this is on you, Freya. Chris just got dumped on his head.
Freya: It is. My stomach is churning the longer this match is going.
Chris slowly begins to look up to see his father right in his face. The teenager tries to push him away but fails in his effort. Brad grabs his kid by the hair and whips him into the ropes. Christopher bounces right back into a hard european uppercut! Brad laughs looking at Chris out on the mat. He puts his son onto his stomach before standing over him, pulling him up just enough to lay in with vicious crossface shots! Each shot comes harder than the last, a cut forming above one of Christopher’s eyes as Brad stops and lets his son flop down before jumping up into the air and double stomping his back. Chris rolls around in so much pain while Brad leans against the ropes telling his son to get up. Using the ropes, the boy pulls himself back up to his feet, falling back into a corner. Brad smirks before rushing into the corner but Chris is able to move out of the way. Brad’s chest is rammed into the turnbuckle as Chris quickly leaps into the air and spikes his father with a reverse rana!
Mark: That may be what Christopher needed right there after that brutal assault by his own father. Those shots were some of the hardest I’ve ever seen.
Freya: Yeah… th-they were…
Brad holds his head on the canvas while Christopher is again using the ropes to pull himself up. Chris wipes away some of the blood before staggering around. The elder Kane has gotten up to his feet now trying to regain his bearings. Christopher sees his father and begins to feel the hate coming through him before running and smashing his elbow right into his jaw. Brad gets set into the ropes as Chris whips his dad across the ring. Brad comes back into Christopher leaping into the air but he has the wits about him to catch Chris in the air, place him onto his shoulders and drill him with the Go 2 Pele! Chris flies into a corner and slumps down back out of it as Brad slowly gets up to his feet holding his jaw.
Freya: The bruises on Christopher are disturbing right now.
Mark: But the kid is fighting back. He’s shown that he has quite the resolve to keep fighting.
Before Christopher has a chance to move Brad sprints in with a big time face wash before just scraping his boot across his son’s face. The crowd continues to boo the father who ignores them focused upon inflicting more punishment to his child. Slowly Brad pulls Chris out of the corner now and smacks him hard right in the face. Chris staggers on his feet before getting smacked again. A third slap in the face before Brad pushes his son to the ropes. The father unleashes a wicked kick to the chest before a second one causes the kid to fall forward onto his face. Brad shakes his head in disappointment before kneeling down to turn Christopher over onto his back. The elder Kane climbs to the top turnbuckle leaping off with a Mud Splash that finds the mark. Christopher begins to cough loudly from the compression of his chest and ribs while Brad takes a bow.
Freya: I can’t watch this anymore, I’m sorry.
Mark: Huh, what?
Freya: Seeing the man that helped me in my career like Brad did to act like this to his own son is making me sick. To see Christopher bleeding, in pain is breaking my heart. I just can’t sit here and watch this anymore. I can’t!
Mark: I… I understand. I can see where this would be difficult for you.
Freya: Thank you. Sorry everyone.
Freya gets up and takes off her headset, walking away from the announcers table and heads to the back upset with the violence. Brad shakes his head watching his cousin walk away before turning his attention back to Christopher. The teenager is on his hands and knees before getting punted in the stomach. He rolls back onto his back before Brad sits him up. The elder Kane creates a shotgun with his hands before cocking and shooting it, runs off of the ropes and pastes Christopher with the ADTR! Brad gets back up to his feet before doing the cut throat motion.
Mark: I think the lesson in pain might be over folks.
Brad pulls Christopher up and grabs him before dropping him with the Backdrop Driver! He doesn’t cover and instead drags Chris back up and hits a second Backdrop Driver! Brad shakes his head before pulling his own son back up to his feet looking ashamed. A third Backdrop Driver follows as Phillip River calls for the bell. The crowd is confused as a microphone is handed into the ring.
Phillip Rivers: Brad, you’re not trying to win the match, you’re specifically trying to hurt him, you’re disqualified!
The crowd begins to rain down with boos as Brad is livid with that decision telling Rivers that it’s his boy and no one can tell him that he can’t keep doing this. Rivers gets back into Brad’s face sticking with the decision as the two keep going back and forth. Hard breathing is heard through the arena as somehow Christopher has the microphone in his hand.
Christopher: Re… restart the match!
Everyone gets onto their feet as Rivers sees that Christopher isn’t quite dead yet before shrugging his shoulders and ringing the bell. Brad is all smiles as he goes into a corner and waits for his son to get up.
Mark: What a strange turn of events. I don’t recall ever seeing anything like this before.
Christopher is back up to his feet as Brad sprints and blasts him with the Dead Set. He looks at Rivers before dropping down with a cover, hooking a leg.
ONE!
TWO!!
THRE!!!
HOW THE SHIT DID CHRISTOPHER KICK OUT OF THAT?!
Mark: How in the world did the kid kick out of that? Brad is beside himself right now. Unbelievable.
Brad’s eyes begin to widen as he covers again.
ONE!
TWO!!
THR!!!
Again Christopher kicks out! Brad holds his head in pure shock, frustrated and maybe even a hint of pride for the resilience and the willingness to fight of his son. Brad’s nearly in tears as he pulls up Christopher again and attempts another Backdrop Driver but Christopher lands on his feet and waits for his father to turn around before caving his face in with Hit by a Hurricane! The elder Kane goes down on the mat as Christopher slumps down in a seated position beginning to feel the fighting spirit. Rivers starts his count.
Mark: Christopher just ensured his father felt all of that tornado kick. My goodness.
ONE!
TWO!
THREE!
FOUR!
Brad is using the ropes to get up as Christopher’s face becomes painted with rage.
FIVE!
SIX!
Both men are up as Brad kicks wildly as it gets ducked. Christopher leaps into the air and spikes his dad with a leaping DDT before rolling back up to his feet with the crowd getting behind him firmly. The teenager slowly makes his way to the top rope while his father gets up to his feet. Chris dives off of the top rope with New York Rain taking his father back down!
Mark: The kid is alive! The father can’t believe it and might be in a bad way. This is unbelievable.
Christopher throws his arms out into the air yelling loudly before dragging his dad up to his feet and puts him up into a torture rack. RECKLESS KILLING! His father’s legendary finisher as Reckless Jack! The crowd is going insane as Christopher goes to the second rope and smirks. Second rope 630 Splash connects flush on his father. He scoots back and covers, hooking a leg.
ONE!
TWO!!
THREE!!!!!
The bell rings for a second time as Christopher rolls off of his father, slumping down with a smile on his face, some blood still coming down from his face.
John: Here is your winner, Christopher Kane!
Slowly Christopher gets up to his feet, hand raised by Phillip Rivers who he thanks for restarting the match. The crowd is on their feet impressed with the young man as he continues to wipe away the blood. Christopher looks down at his father who is holding his head, starting to sit up. Brad tilts his head up to see his son breathing hard. The elder Kane gets back up to his feet, breathing hard himself, before asking for the microphone. Christopher balls up his fist in preparation for what might be said. The father takes a moment or two before raising the microphone to his face.
Brad: Christopher Bradley Kane…
The suspense builds.
Brad: I… I’m sorry. For everything, I’m sorry. For everything I said, what I did to you and your personal life, how I treated everyone in that locker room. I’m sorry. It’s a humbling experience to see you standing over me. You’re a man capable of standing on your own son, I’m proud of you.
Christopher glares at his father who extends his hand. The teenager looks at his father before closing his eyes. Christopher takes his father’s hand and begins to shake it only to get drawn into a hug. Brad has tears coming down his face finally realizing the hell he put his own child through. The father raises his son’s hand into the air before “Trial of Champions” begins to play. Those Damned Kane Boys exit the ring together, united once again.
Freya: This is tough, it really is. You hate seeing a father/son relationship come to this point and seeing how this is my family, it breaks my heart.
