John Youle: The following match is a last man standing match for the SVW Adrenaline Championship! There will be no pinfalls, no submissions and no disqualifications. The only way to win this match is to render your opponent unable to answer the count of ten.
The lights are killed in the storied Madison Square Garden. Fans rise to their feet in the darkness partly in confusion. They don’t wait for very long as…
“Death, be not proud, though some have called thee
Mighty and dreadful, for thou are not so;
For those whom thou think’st thou dost overthrow
Die not, poor Death, nor yet canst thou kill me.”
Instead of the usual introduction for Christopher Kane, the sonet continues on.
“From rest and sleep, which but thy pictures be,
Much pleasure; then from thee much more must flow,
And soonest our best men with thee do go,
Rest of their bones, and soul’s delivery.
Thou’art slave to fate, chance, kings, and desperate men,
And dost with poison, war, and sickness dwell,
And poppy’or charms can make us sleep as well
And better than thy stroke; why swell’st thou then?
One short sleep past, we wake eternally,
And death shall be no more; Death, thou shalt die.”
At the conclusion the arena is heard some static feedback is heard echoing through the arena. People know who is due out next and begin chanting for the second generation star. The tension begins to fill MSG knowing what’s going to come. Then the gentle beginning of “The Sound of Silence” by Disturbed begins to play.
“Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains... within the sound of silence”
The lights flicker on and dim back down to see Christopher Kane’s silhouette standing in the entry way. He doesn’t move a single inch as the arena crowd is shown various highlights of his on-going saga against Sunny and the Worthy.
“And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never shared
And no one dared... disturb the sound of silence”
The lowlights of his forced servitude to the Worthy and Sunny. The months, the year, of the torment and fighting between the two competitors for the Adrenaline Title.
“And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon God they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
And the sign said "The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls"... and whispered in the sound of silence”
And the highlight package ends with the two face to face, determination in their eyes. As “The Sound of Silence” comes to it’s conclusion, MSG is left in silence once again. That is until another song begins to play. The chanting beginning of “I Am Hell” by Machine Head overtakes the screaming crowd being flashbacked to last year’s Climax.
“I am death
Arms held outstretched
I am hell
Born this mortal shell
I am wrath
Take this bloodbath
God sent me to kill you”
The same red blood rain falls down as last year as two spotlights flash to the entryway to reveal Christopher Kane not in his wrestling gear, but a pair of jeans, a white tank top, his hands taped up and the torn up Reckless Jack mask from last year in his right hand. He slowly raises it up in the air to the crowd’s delight before throwing it down to the stage. And now “I Am Hell” stops playing, the lights going back off with the rain still falling. Now? “Sleepwalking” by Bring Me the Horizon
Pyro explodes all over the tron screen and stage and Christopher lets out his father’s former signature war cry. The crowd keeps cheering as Christopher begins to walk to the ring. He’s focused, ready, and without Avery at his side ready for the war to come. He stops midway down the walkway to inform everyone that this bitch is going to die.
“Time stood still
The way it did before
It’s like I’m sleepwalking
Fell into another hole again
It’s like I’m sleepwalking”
Christopher Kane hops up on the ring apron and removes his tank top, throwing it out to the crowd. He has a focused, hateful and determined look his face and then proceeds to proclaim that he beats this bitch for good or he’s going to die trying. The blood rain finally coming to an end. Christopher storms around the ring hyping everyone up a little bit more before turning his attention to the entry way as the song stops.
John: And coming from San Diego, California… weighing in at 184 lbs… Christopher Kane!!!
Melissa: Christopher Kane has been put through absolute hell by The Worthy over the past few months, but tonight he gets the chance at final redemption.
Dante: This match is going to be ugly and it’s going to get ugly quickly.
Melissa: Kane ran the gauntlet and took out two of the three Worthy members, but Sunny managed to get the better of him. Tonight is a different story and he finally gets to remove the head from the snake.
Dante: And taking the Adrenaline Championship from Sunny would be the icing on the cake.
The lights shut off almost entirely aside from a single spotlight at the entrance way. Qilin, the goth lolita, walks out with a mask in her hands and SVW Adrenaline Championship over her shoulder. Qilin looks and giggles, kissing the forehead of the mask before raising it above her head and tossing it to the ground. As soon as it hits the ground the entire ramp is filled with fog and the arena goes quiet for a moment, Qilin completely obscured.
“Oh my god
Please help me, knee deep in the river tryin' to get clean
He says wash your hands, get out the stains
But you best believe, boy, there's hell to pay
Yeah you best believe, boy, there's hell to pay, sayin'
Come on!”
The roar with boos as the fog clears and standing next to Qilin is a masked woman, clad in gold, black and red, those crimson lips curl as she pats the belt that now rests on her shoulder. Sunny smirks and points at the ring. Making their way down QIlin hands pamphlets to anyone who would take one as Sunny caressed the title.
John: Hailing from, Yeongdeungpo District, South Korea this is the SVW Adrenaline Champion, The Game Changer....Sunny Kyoun!
“I rambled with the worst of them
Fell in love with a harlequin
Saw the darkest hearts of men
And I saw myself starin' back again
And I saw myself starin' back again”
Slowly she, alongside Qilin, slowly make it to the ring as smoke billows down the walkway to the ring. Qilin climbs up onto the apron and holds the ropes for her masked leader. Sunny quickly slips through the ropes and glares around as smoke surrounds the ring. Qilin helps Sunny remove the entrance attire before slipping out of ring. Sunny stares off, waiting and plotting as Qilin heads back up the rampway, but the carpet is pulled out from under her literally as Kane chances her entrance as a distraction to slip out the ring and pull her legs out from underneath her, slamming the Adrenaline Champion face first into the canvas!
The crowd go crazy as Kane drags Sunny out of the ring by her feet and begins to stamp down on her back as she lays on the floor. Referee Darren McCluskey slides out of the ring to keep up with the action as Kane hoists Sunny up to her feet by her hair then drives his knee into her face over and over again, each hit making her head jolt despite Kane keeping hold of her hair. With a sudden chance of tact, Kane spins round and hurls Sunny into the ring steps spine first, the crash of human body against steel echoing through the arena! Darren McCluskey immediately begins to count as Sunny slumps against the steel, the blood beginning to trickle from her nose…
1….. 2 …..
Sunny almost immediately comes back to life and tries to get back to her feet, but Kane tries to thwart her attempts only to get tripped by the Champion, his face bouncing off the steel steps!
Melissa: Human body is not supposed to meet steel like that!
Dante: Sunny is already bleeding and we’re only five minutes into this match.
Melissa: That is the mindset of Christopher Kane right now. He wants her to suffer like he has.
Kane bounces back to the floor but doesn’t waste time in getting back to his feet, checking his face for blood only for Sunny to meet him immediately with a huge roundhouse kick to the side of the head that staggers the challenger long enough for Sunny to completely find her bearings again and hop onto the apron. Kane turns around into a flying Sunny, who leaps onto the middle rope and crashing into the challenger with a springboard crossbody! Both competitors fight to get back to their feet, which is a battle that Sunny wins in charging at Kane as he turns around, driving him spine first into the security barrier! The fans in MSG pour scorn on the Adrenaline champion as she drags a slumped Kane back to his feet and hoists him up to drop him with a back suplex across the security barrier! Kane slumps to the floor again and McCluskey leaps into action, beginning to count…
1 ….. 2 …..
Kane manages to make it back to his feet and Sunny tries to charge for another attack, only to be stopped in her tracks by Kane picking her up to flapjack her, dropping the Adrenaline Champion face first across the security barrier!
Melissa: Talk about repaying the favour, ouch!
Dante: We knew this would get ugly, quick. And it really has.
Kane gets back to his feet as McCluskey starts to count again…
1 ….. 2 ….. 3 …..
The challenger jumps on Sunny as soon as she’s back on her feet, hammering down on her back and neck with stiff forearms before taking her by the hand and trying to throw her into the ringpost, only for the Champion to reverse the momentum and send Kane crashing head first into the ringpost himself! Kane hits the floor like a sack of potatoes and McCluskey begins to count again …
1 ….. 2 ….. 3 ….. 4 ….. 5 …..
Clinging onto the ringpost, Kane pulls himself back to his feet and Sunny doesn’t waste time, hitting him from behind with a double forearm strike to take him off balance before dropping him with a snap DDT straight onto the metal ramp! The sound of skull against metal rings out around the arena as Sunny rolls away and McCluskey begins to count …
1 ….. 2 ….. 3 ….. 4 ….. 5 …..
Kane pushes back to his feet, prompting a snarl from Sunny who hits a knee to the side of the head as he tries to straighten up then grabs Kane by the head and tries to hurl him into the security barrier, but Kane manages to grab Sunny by the head and catch her with a jawbreaker that drops her onto her backside. Sunny immediately goes back on the assault and the pair begin trading blows back and forth in a flurry of left and right fists until Sunny breaks the pattern with a thumb to the eye! Kane turns his back to her and Sunny uses the opportunity, leaping onto Kane’s back to lock a sleeper and bodyscissors combo on the challenger. McCluskey checks on Kane’s state as he flails his arms around, trying to free himself from Sunny’s grip but to no avail, the Champion just tightening her hold on his head and neck. Kane looks like he’s beginning to flag, but he finds something deep down and suddenly drops backwards, driving Sunny into the steel ramp spine and head first!
Melissa: Sunny’s head must be ringing right now.
Dante: That was a smart move from Kane here. Survival instinct kicked in.
Neither competitor is moving as McCluskey begins to count …
1 ….. 2 ….. 3 ….. 4 ….. 5 ….. 6 …..
Kane makes it to his feet before Sunny does and uses the advantage, grabbing her by the hair and driving his knee into her face again before dragging her up the ramp to the top of the staging. As they reach the top, Sunny breaks his grip and hits a hard European uppercut that staggers Kane for a second, only for the challenger to block the next strike and hit the Champion with a nasty headbutt that causes the blood to start flowing from her nose again! With Sunny staggered, Kane grabs her by the hair again and spins round before hurling her spine first into the LCD panel at the back of the entranceway! The LCD panel shows the hole in the colour from the impact as Sunny lies in a heap at the base of it, Kane holding onto the edge of the display while McCluskey begins to count…
1 ….. 2 ….. 3 ….. 4 ….. 5 ….. 6 …..
Sunny drags herself back to her feet and Kane is back on the attack almost instantly, but he doesn’t get far as Sunny hits him with a violent low blow that brings him to his knees!
Melissa: Oooof.
Dante: It’s no disqualification. I talked about survival instinct earlier and that was definitely survival instinct.
Sunny begins to laugh as Kane breathes deeply, taking a step back and waiting for him to sit back on his heels before running at the challenger and hitting him with a hard inziguri that sends him sprawling backwards! Kane immediately tries to get back to his feet, rolling to his hands and knees which earns him a huge boot to the ribs from Sunny that sends him rolling to the side of the announcer’s table on the staging. The challenger coughs and splutters as he sits himself up against the side of the table, which pushes McCluskey to start counting…
1 ….. 2 ….. 3 ….. 4 ….. 5 ….. 6 ….. 7 …..
Kane just gets to his feet as McCluskey hits seven, and Sunny takes off at him at speed.
Melissa: Dante, move!
Dante: Jesus chri-
Dante doesn’t finish his sentence thanks to losing his headset from diving out of the way as Kane recovers in time to catch Sunny and throw her over, driving her spine first into the announcer’s table which doesn’t break! Sunny arches her back, crying out in pain as Kane keeps his momentum going and climbs onto the table, wrapping his arms around her waist as she tries to get up and hurling her overhead to drive Sunny through the table with a huge German suplex!! The crowd goes insane as the table collapses below them and neither competitor is moving as McCluskey jumps in to make the count…
1 ….. 2 ….. 3 ….. 4 ….. 5 ….. 6 ….. 7 ….. 8 …..
Kane manages to roll from the wreckage of the table and get to his feet, just as Sunny manages to do the same. Kane grabs a fist of hair, but Sunny manages to land a stiff punch to the gut that winds Kane and gives Sunny time to find some bearings, running and grabbing Kane by the head to leap off the staging, driving Kane face first into the concrete floor with a bulldog!!
Melissa: My god! Kane has to be out cold! Dante, are you back with me??
Dante: …….. just about.
Sunny holds her back as she pushes to her feet, while McCluskey begins to count again …
1 ….. 2 ….. 3 ….. 4 ….. 5 ….. 6 ….. 7 ….. 8 …..
Kane is incredibly wobbly as he about gets back to his feet, catching Sunny with an elbow as she tries to go back on the attack. She staggers and we see the blood beginning to trickle from a wound above Kane’s eye as he grabs hold of the camera boom and swings it round as Sunny turns around, smashing the camera into her head!
Melissa: Those cameras cost a fortune!
Dante: Something tells me Chris Kane really doesn’t care about that right now.
Sunny crumples to the floor and McCluskey begins the count …
1 ….. 2 ….. 3 ….. 4 ….. 5 ….. 6 ….. 7….. 8 …..
Somehow, Sunny crawls her way back to the edge of the ramp and uses it to support her weight to get back to her feet, her eyes looking a little glazed. She climbs onto the ramp as Kane goes back on the attack, making a beeline for her as she tries to stagger back down to the ringside area. Kane catches up to her but Sunny throws another elbow that connects with Kane’s nose, staggering the challenger long enough for the Champion to get some distance between them and catch her breath. Kane finds his bearings and goes back on the hunt, and finding Sunny leant up against the security barrier he charges to attack, only for Sunny to hurl him over the security barrier with a back body drop that drives him into the concrete and the crowd!!
The fans in MSG express their distaste for Sunny’s actions as the Adrenaline Champion smiles a sick smile before hopping over the security barrier and going on the hunt, finding Kane just about making it to his feet. Sunny goes to turn him around, but the challenger catches her off guard with a drink from a fan, throwing the ice cold soda in her face!
Melissa: Chris Kane is getting creative here.
Dante: Maybe Sunny will appreciate the cool off!
Sunny staggers from the shock of the sudden cold and Kane finds his spot, using an empty chair as a step up to leap onto Sunny’s shoulders from behind and spike her into the concrete floor with a reverse rana! McCluskey finally gets over the security barrier to start the count as Kane pulls himself back to his feet …
1 ….. 2 ….. 3 ….. 4 ….. 5 ….. 6 ….. 7 ….. 8 …..
Using a nearby fan as a leaning post, Sunny somehow manages to get back to her feet, shoving the fan out of the way once she’s vertical. She turns around straight into a clothesline from Kane that knocks Sunny right back over the security barrier and to the ringside area! Kane hops back over the barrier with McCluskey close behind, grabbing Sunny by the back of the head as she tries to get back up, slamming her head off the ring apron! Sunny staggers around the ringside area and Kane continues to attack, but the Champion manages to switch the tempo as she catches Kane off guard with a superkick right to the jaw! Kane flies backwards and collides with one of the ringside cameramen, knocking both of them down to the floor! McCluskey immediately calls for medical help for the cameraman as Sunny takes a second before lifting up the ring apron and dragging a table out!
Melissa: The ringside area is carnage, our table is in pieces and a cameraman is now receiving medical attention! This is insanity!
Dante: And now Sunny wants to bring another table into the mix!
Kane is back on his feet and goes for Sunny, the Adrenaline Champion stopping the challenger in his tracks by raking his eyes as he grabs her from behind, the Worthy member spinning round in his grasp! With a split second chance, Sunny scoops up the dropped TV camera and lines herself up with Kane, waiting for him to turn round before launching at him with it and crashing it into his head!!
Despite the shot, Kane is still showing signs of life and Sunny cannot believe it. She discards the camera but keeps hold of the cable and loops it around his neck, using it to drag him over to the table as he coughs and splutters! Sunny continues to use the cable as a weapon, using what energy she’s got left to drag a now lifeless Chris Kane onto the table, hitting him once more with a stiff right hand before staggering back against the ring apron. McCluskey comes to start making a count, but Sunny grabs him by the collar and threatens him to stop, hissing at him “Not. Yet.”.
Melissa: Did she seriously just threaten an official?!
Dante: Sunny has gotten past the point of just wanting to beat Kane. She wants to embarrass him.
Almost hurling McCluskey away, Sunny begins to climb up onto the apron and then towards the top of the turnbuckle, but the effects of the match mean it’s not an easy task and Sunny takes her time getting to the top rope. With her back to the table, she doesn’t see Chris Kane recovering and climbing onto the apron too. Just as Sunny gets to the top rope, Kane is there behind her, catching her off guard by hitting her hard in the back of the neck and head! The pair are teetering dangerously on the turnbuckle as Kane positions himself and Sunny, balancing precariously and tucking her head between his legs and picking her up.
Melissa: No way! There’s no way he’s going for this?!
Dante: Kane is determined to destroy Sunny, but Chris it’s not worth killing yourself over!
With a momentary pause, Kane moonsaults off the top rope with Sunny in his grasps, crashing the pair of them through the table on the outside with the Unlimited Finale!! Wood spinters everywhere, McCluskey almost leaps out of his skin and the fans in MSG go absolutely insane as the pile of humanity crashes through the table! With no signs of life, McCluskey begins to count…
1 ….. 2 ….. 3 ….. 4 ….. 5 ….. 6 ….. 7 ….. 8 …..
Kane grabs hold of the ring apron and uses it to drag himself up to his feet as McCluskey’s count reaches nine, but there’s no sign of life from Sunny as the count reaches ten and McCluskey calls for the bell!
John Youle: Here is your winner and the NEW SVW Adrenaline Champion, Christopher Kane!!!
As soon as the bell rings, Kane collapses back against the ring apron as medical personnel flood the ringside area to check on both competitors. Kane just shoves them away as McCluskey approaches with the Adrenaline Championship belt, handing it to Kane then lifting his free hand in victory but diving to catch him from falling just seconds later.
Melissa: He’s done it!!
Dante: Chris Kane has been to hell and back thanks to The Worthy and tonight, he finally cut the head off the snake!
Melissa: Something tells me Sunny won’t be happy when she comes round, but she’s only got herself to blame!
Dante: Let’s focus on the big thing here. After constantly chasing for the Adrenaline Championship, Chris Kane has finally won it!
McCluskey drapes Kane’s arm around his shoulders and supports the new Adrenaline Champion as he makes his way around the ring and up the ramp, holding his new championship belt up the best he can.
